Scottish Borders 28 Oct

Post by toom317 » Mon Oct 28, 2019 7:51 pm

It's Tartan Spiriti time again, and trying out a location on the A7 just South of Hawick, to hopefully get one, or even both of the Hercs in at Prestwick. There's a lot of civil traffic into and out of Edinburgh and Glasgow, along with Transatlantic traffic, so imagine my surprise and delight when the overhead noise turned out to be 2 B2's, (Mighty 21/22), both of which came back over an hour later going in the opposite direction. Later I got my Herc, which turned out to be a 2 shipper, which was great. Sadly with the demise of the Tucano, Hercs are about all we can expect round here at LL now.

The B2 pics aren't the greatest quality, but I did see them, honest. :ninja:

Very nice light on the C-130's and the bonus of a pair of B-2's which are always great to see.

Nice one Danny, great catch with the B-2s and the C-130s are crackers, that mellow winter light just great.
Cheers.

 It's been that long since I've had any LL action around here, I had forgot there was a dedicated LL section on FC.

I was out till 4.15PM Mike, and they didn't come back this way again. Hopefully they'll be back tomorrow, as I'm taking Walter up to the same location.

My mate texted me to say they were in the Lochgoilhead area so probably turned left not long after you saw them.
Unfortunately they didn't come down the Holy Loch as far as I know so yet to see them.

OP..sorry for drift.
B2s..jealous..me? of course! Still haven't seen one let alone 2.
Lovely shots of the Hercs.

Very nice Danny – I thought you were joking about the B2’s

I suppose it was too much to ask for a repeat C-130 movement today but it was still enjoyable to have a catch up on the hill.

Great catches all round Danny. Bet the B-2's banished the cold for you.
