Sentinel R.1 ZJ691 parked up alongside ZJ692 and ZJ694. Another RAF type to sadly never fly again

I drove past Waddington on the way back from visiting Mildenhall yesterday. It's become a breakers yard very sad to see. I live in Lincoln and it's not worth a visit anymore.

Nice shot, but sad to see it tethered in such a way.

Took the same shot myself Luke.
It is a shame to see her tethered down with concrete blocks.

All the best

Not funny at all just plain insulting. As for growing up I am 57 and served over 24 years in the Air Training Corps - a branch of the Royal Air Force. Most of that time in a disciplinary role. Now who needs to grow up? I make no apology for responding in open forum. Off topic yes but I feel strongly enough to do so. One of the Mods also is or was RAFVR(T) as I recall so I hope he shares a similar view. I would be somewhat disappointed if not.
I presume you mean me? I no longer have my RAF VR(T) (now called RAFAC) commission sadly, but agree with what you are saying.

Find it hard to understand why someone (presumably) interested in aircraft thinks the RAF is a farse, probably never dealt with personnel on an RAF base let alone been on one?

The World is changing, 1990s crewed tech is no longer the be all and end all. Bases go through busy and quiet fazes, look at Coningsby after the F3s left and before the Typhoons arrived.

I've met some wonderful people on my travels and heard many inspiring stores over breakfast or a pint in the various Messes, none of those people would call it a farse.

That's why RAF now stands for Royal Air Farce !
That's somewhat disingenuous to the hard working men and women maintaining operations around the world don't you think?
