Hello there,

Just wondered why this airframe has returned to flight, having been decommissioned and retired August.

Are there any more E3D's proposed to be brought out of retirement - I would presume it's because of the current tensions in eastern Europe, but I could be wide of the mark!

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere (I couldn't find it though!)

Thanks, John :)

To offer an educated guess, it may be connected with the proposed sale of three airframes (two active and one spares source) to the Chilean Air Force. The recent visit of an FACh Boeing 767 to RAF Waddington was also covered in the Current Military Photography forum.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing, and a great set. Nice to see the RAF AWACs still flying after retirement, ready for their next owner.
