Thought he was not going to stop at one point and go off the other end.

for us unfamiliar, I assume this is a late take off, and the usual pics would be of a flight much higher?

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Reminds me of 00357 an RC 135D who took a piece of fir tree to Alaska with him after a very late rotation.

He did a 'touch and go' with a very late rotation by looks of it

Fantastic pictures.
I’ve heard ‘the option’ mentioned on the radio many times at Mildenhall. What does it actually mean?

I believe it's an 'Option' for the A/c Commander to initiate the cleared "Low Approach" or "Touch & Go" (aka...Roller!) or indeed execute a "Full-Stop Landing" ? Confirmation welcome please.

Spot on, judging by the windsock. A hefty tailwind by the looks of things :O

Exactly this. It's an Americanism basically to say "do what you want and let me know"

The correct response to "ABC123, cleared for the option" should be "touch and go, ABC123" or "cleared to land, ABC123", etc

Thanks for the comments chaps. Winds given were 110 at 9knts, strange why he asked for the 28 approaches when they were on 11 at the time. After he landed they switched to 28 .lol
