The RSAF Airbus A-330 MRTT was on the horizon just before 14.00 local. It touched down on #02 with full flaps, slats, and reverse thrust from those twin GE turbofans ... the dust cloud and anything else that could fly ... not even thinking what heat built up in those wheel brakes. The deceleration was unbelievable, and then, CONFUSION. The pilot was turning to starboard as if to exit the runway, but then abruptly stopped. The plane was now at a 45 degree angle to the runway, at the 'short-cut' taxiway that leads to Charlie dispersal.
He was having none of giving us lot at the fence a decent shot of his plane - well!

I would love to have heard what was the conversation between tower and cockpit. Next, like a scolded child, the A-330 came down the runway at what was an extra slow taxiing speed - well!

The Airbus made a U-turn at the threshold of #20 and pootled back down the runway. I had my pictures, left the fence and headed back to the 'overflow' next to the WAVE.

Question:-
Can anyone tell me what the purpose was of the personnel in camouflage dress at the #20 threshold swinging arms and generally looking somewhat out of place - see picture below.

God Bless You, it says near the flight deck windows.

Arm waving on the right, and the others sauntering around? Huh?

Cheers guys!
