RAF Spadeadam - Exercise Lightning Force + Unexpected Visitors!

Post by dannyboyo20 » Wed Mar 12, 2025 6:26 pm

Hi all, Hurrah, Lightning Force is back! After a quite long break since the last ex, 6x AAC AH64E are back in the Northern wilderness to utilise all Spadeadam has to offer. Massive shout out to the crews involved yesterday, outstanding flying! :D

Weather quite pleasant but changeable (when isn't it!), cheers to Dylan for the good company!

Many years ago, it was quite common to hear foreign voices call up to enter the range, these days it's rarer than rocking horse deposits.....
So, imagine our excitement and surprise when FATIH 41/42 called up! 2x TuAF F-16s ex Waddington as part of Ex Cobra Warrior. 45 Minutes playtime conducting simulated bombing runs with some quite entertaining ATC along the way.
it was like a blast from the past!

Nice set Danny. I was watching on ADSB yesterday and was thinking of going down today but the weather put me off. Pity, as it looks like there was a Navy Wildcat working the range today as well.

Its gonna rain, its gonna rain till the levee breaks, a tidal wave of fear and pain washes us away, another fight into the night until nothing else remains, how do we find harbour from the Hurricane?
