CQWI - Lossie - Day 1

Post by onemac » Mon Oct 01, 2012 7:10 pm

What a most excellent day in the company of both locals and friends from down south - cheers to all for the company. Anyway, a small selection from the day.

1. Parking was ***** awful but it did make for some well lit shots from half way down the track!
Image

2. Caught napping when this fella did a performance take-off.
Image

3. More of the Blues Brothers arrived.
Image

4. These boys are still high on approach.
Image

5. Unmarked Hawk.
Image

6. Sentinel came back quick and went out again.
Image

7. Most of 15Sqn were in ferry fit.
Image

8. A most unusual sight - 10 x Tonkas, canopies open and crewing in! They all made it out in a single wave bar one (not the 1kk jet).
Image

9. The light was great when this mission marked chap returned.
Image

10. And I'm claiming a strobe.
Image

11. Second camo Hawk arrived.
Image

12. As I headed home I snapped this, more in hope than anything else. Right fuel tank is interesting.
Image

Thanks for looking.

Al

What a fantastic set Al, great light and great variety.

General question XV mass launch , part of the excercise or are they off somewhere?

Cheers Gareth

Part of the Exercise Gareth. Morning and afternoon waves are for Joint Warrior and the lunchtime wave (15 Sqn put up 8 x Tonlas each day) is for CQWI.

Cheers

Really like the angle on the Sentinel, works well. Tonka's look great carrying a full fuel loadout as well don't they!

An intriguing catch on the Gripen's fuel tank, too...
