87th FIS Retro Talon

Post by hawgwash » Mon Jul 15, 2019 9:46 pm

Caught this beautiful F-106 style retro schemed T-38C from the 87th FTS out of Laughlin AFB today at Alliance. Crew were nice enough to give a tour before they departed as CARBON 66.

I'm still trying to catch the Randolph F-4 style Talon but so far, no luck.

Nice scheme Matt. Could have rattled some Kodachrome off :-)

Very .nice - those F-106 squadrons had some great markings. The closest we in the UK came to seeing the Red Bulls was when the 87FIS deployed 4 of their '106's to Keflavik in 1978 to cover the 57FIS transition from F-4C's to F-4E's.
