Stansted 03-12-2019 NATO summit arrivals

The local police opened up the Aerozone for planewatch members today to give us a good view of the arrivals for the NATO summit - a mixture of military and government aircraft. The American ones arrived last night but a good selection of others arrived during the day - here's a selection of the military contingent....

and a rather nice 747 / VC.25 line up, the red one is the Turkish President's aircraft, I expect (hope) you recognise the other 2 The Stansted USAF contingent comprised of the 2 VC.25s, 2 no C.32s, the C.17 CH47 and VH.60 in the pics plus 2 C.5s which visited on Saturday. As somde will be aware, the 2 helicopters were part of a larger group which have been based at Northolt for he duration of the event

PH-GOV was still there when I left but not in the most visible position but I didn't post a pic of it here as it's a civilian registration, there'a a pic of it on my post on civilian aviation where there's several with civilian registrations (and a couple of military - we allow up to 10% on there if they add to the topic) https://www.civilianaviation.co.uk/foru ... 69&t=34145

Next time you have a meeting with the local police, please extend our thanks to them. Once again we found them polite, considerate and, more than once, very helpful in pointing out the harder to see parked up aircraft in the gathering dark.
