Moreton Fire College

Post by 1marshn30 » Mon Nov 29, 2021 9:01 pm

Hi all
The Fire College at Moreton in Marsh has some new Airframes in ofTornados F3 ZE165 GE ex43Sqn and GR4 ZA612 ex 31sqn from Manston? And from Lyneham LynxAH7 XZ187 TAD 013
It would appear that the longer serving FRADU Hunter has gone as the updated google map only shows the Tonkas and the new Airliner shapped fire trainning rig

The GR4 is ZG773 (not ZA612)

Lynx TAD013 is QP30 (not XZ187)

interesting though

ZG773 has gone down hill a bit - it was smart looking at horse guards parade during the RAF100 celebrations - or was it?

Hi All,

Sorry for the link, at work so unable to post direct:

Some photos from my Drone flight in the summer.
ZG773 GR4
ZE165 F3
XZ187 Lynx

I did not see Lynx TAD013 is QP30 at the time, will have to go and have another look

So it looks like there are 2 x Lynx present.

Interesting images, thanks for posting.
I was 'lucky' enough to spend quite a few weeks on several courses at Moreton when I was in Fire Service, no such super training aids when I was there sadly.. :Wow:
Are the frames visible from the road can I ask?
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Thanks for sharing these, several years since I visited and could view from the lane that ran down one side with views from a former crash gate. I remember that they had a Hunter, JP and an Andover fuselage there.

If you go along Todenham road, there is a turning on the right and you can see the Tornados, I would guess from the images that Lynx ynx TAD013 will be in front of them.
XZ187 Lynx will be a lot harder to see as it is flanked by bushes and trees, however it may be a good time to look, with the trees maybe dropping their leaves.

The Hunter has been in nearby Todenham for a while now: http://www.eurodemobbed.org.uk/location ... ation=9790
Nice report!

The Hunter that was at Moreton was/is WT804 which is a GA.11. WP180 was a Hunter F.5 which is long gone and no doubt someone can provide details of its demise.

There is a Lynx upside down behind the Tonkas now. Is that perhaps TAD013?
best regards,
Erwin
