RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall last week
RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall last week
Typically, I picked the 'Juneteenth' bank holiday for my first day in Suffolk, so not much activity on the Monday - but for the rest of the week I spent time at both bases.
Here are a selectio of photos.
Although the nice weather was very welcome, heat haze really affected my photos of the final SJ tailed F-15 taxying for departure on the Tuesday morning and made them unuseable.
Later in the day, the visitors from Aviano and Spangdahlem arrived:

Spent a few hours at Mildenhall in the evening:

Went to the 06 end at Lakenheath in anticipation of the arrival of the Norwegian F-35s on Wednesday, but it didn't really work out photography wise, so headed to Maidscross Hill for some more distant photos:

Thursday saw me back at the 24 end, with a nice topside on departure by one F-35:

Headed to Mildenhall again, and bagged photos of the Turkish A400 and deployed RC-135 arriving in the afternoon:

Friday morning saw the Norwegian F-35s flying, and four RAF F-35s visiting the base as well:

Another trip over the Mildenhall for the UC-12 arriving in the afternoon:

Saturday, my last day, was spent at Mildenhall - pleased to photograph the AK ANG C-17. Again, heat haze plagued the photo of the tail art:

With that, my week came to an end.
Great to meet up with Trevor, Nick, Pete, Paddy, Rich, James and Darren once again, and Will for the first time.
Thanks for looking - C&C welcome.

Thanks Mike.
My time off for this was booked before the news of the visitors to LN broke, so very lucky to see those.

I enjoyed the Monday. Still not had any luck with the ticket, though.

Three MiG kills on the second F16 picture?
Re: RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall last week
Certainly three green stars under the canopy.
