Anatolian Eagle 2022

Post by shaggy101 » Sun Jul 03, 2022 12:52 pm

This was my first trip overseas post covid & it was well worth the wait. This was a organised spotters day ran by the Turkish Air Force for the Anatolian Eagle exercise held at Konya in Turkey. Perhaps the exercise should've been named Anatolian Falcon due to the amount of F-16's in attendance, mostly from Turkey but also from Jordan & Pakistan as well. Also in attendance were the RAF with 3 Typhoons, a NATO E-3A & the Azerbaijan air force with 2 gorgeous Su-25's. Sadly they only flew a single mission in the late morning but everything went up & then returned. However in the afternoon we were treated to an insane display from Solo Turk as well as a departure & a few missed approaches from a couple of Turkish F-4's. After they were done we were taken to the edge of the runway to watch a few F-16 departures, & a few insane passes from an F-16 as well, shame the light had gone by then though. Anyway, enough writing, on with the pictures:

Thanks for sharing your shots from the distant edge of NATO, that would have been a hot session. The solo Turk F16 and F4 top shots are superb!!

Fabulous set of shots - lots of rarities but the Turkish F-4s get my vote. Especially the one with nose and tail art.
