Swidwin AB 14-4-2023

Post by Olief22raptor » Sun Apr 16, 2023 5:19 pm

After 3 days at Malbork, we spent 4 hours on the train up to Swidwin in the hope of catching SU-22s. During the walk up we heard one launch followed by 3 more shortly after we arrived. Upon them coming back the runway changed and 3 jets launched over us, and 2 of them gave some awesome passes upon their recovery. On the way back, we got some quick shots of a MiG-17PF on display outside the train station.

Who wants to see blue Nevada skies and all that Red Flag nonsense!
Su22s and Mig29s Is where It's at.
'Industrial' build quality and smokey engines that evoke a bygone era.
Remember the Fitters at Colt back in the day, seeing the burner flame and about a second later hearing the thud. Simply sublime.
Thanks for sharing these.

Hi Olie :P

Superb shots of proper ‘frames

As said, watching those at Coltishall and hearing the ‘thud’ as the ‘burner kicked in was awesome :Wow:

Thanks for posting :thumb:

Super.

Both posts are very good, nice to see something a bit different

What is spotting like out there in view of Poland's involvement in supporting Ukraine and NATO ?

Cheers, believe they’ll be phased out as the FA-50PL arrive

Thanks! Was fine actually, Malbork is very used to spotters and we saw a few others while we were there, and at Swidwin we had no issues but were further back from the fence, scanners are also allowed much to my surprise!
