Italian Navy EH101 in Portsmouth

Took a trip from Suffolk to Portsmouth today to see the Italian Navy boats and hopefully helicopters. ( Thanks to Phantom fanatic for doing the driving. )
Alas, the only helo visible was EH101 2-21 on the back of ITS Giuseppe Garibaldi in the harbour. I'm not sure of the actual Italian designation of this particular frame - I have found EH, SH and UH prefixes used.

Photos taken from a return trip across the harbour on the good old Gosport Ferry. Code of 2-21 just visible on the starboard side.
Also a nod to the Fighter Control community in general - just about everyone that we spoke to today that was carrying either a camera or scope was on Fighter Control. Crus8der and the two gents from Somerset deserve a particular mention.

Hi Winchester MGF. Good to meet you and Dave yesterday. Thanks for posting the above images. I have just looked at mine, taken from Clarence Yard on the Gosport side and can just make out the code 2-21. Sods Law saw this at Devonport a while back.

Was thinking of heading down tomorrow morning but just read in FC that it departs Saturday morning so don't fancy the ultra early start .

Thanks Razzer56, good to meet you too. A b*gger that you had previously seen the EH101/Merlin but I look forward to more of your West Country posts.

It was a fun day out, I eventually got back through Suffolk Passport Control and was home by late evening.
