Took a chance on the first flying day back at RAF Lakenheath last week, despite various rumours of only one squadron flying, or there being only limited flying, it turned out to be a great day! We had 20 F35s and 6 F15s for a total of 26!

I also decided to try out the fence on the high school side for the first time, it definitely gave a different view of the quick climbs, however most of the F35s had pulled up before reaching us, so lots of belly shots! It was however worth heading that side to take advantage of the stunning light that we had! Highlight of the day had to be the combined formation of LORD (F35s) and RAGE (F15s) who did an oath of re-enlistment for a pilot/WSO and then returned as a 4 ship and lead to a busy pattern!

Great set, we must have been stood next to each other at one point!

The light was lovely, it took a while for my toes to thaw out afterwards but definitely worth it.

Thanks! Its fairly easy to get to - I parked down by the little shopping area then wandered up the road then you just wander around the edge of the field down till you're looking down the runway, you could probably park elsewhere and walk in the other way but I haven't done that before.
