Mach Loop 28/01/11

Post by DaveChapman » Sat Jan 29, 2011 11:10 am

What an interesting day it was in the hills,Tiffies buzzing us around 08:30 then the good ole USA turning up less than an hour later,31 + 41Sqn putting on some great passes,T2s,Hawks and a Herc all by about 1pm.This was an extraordinary amount of moves for the Mach loop in such a short time havent had a morning that great for a couple of years, needless to say Friday afternoon and I guess the RAF are just as keen for the week to finish as the rest of us and we had oh fudge all in the afternoon,im not complaining at all the quality of the traffic was brilliant, but with a 25-30mph wind directly into your face it made the real temp of -3 feel like -30000 Ive never had a day that cold in the loop and ive done a few winters there. Anyway on with the show, hope you like my efforts.
Cheers Dave.

May the skies be clear and blue and the wind fair with a guiding star to steer by.

Well it was absolutely worth freezing your extremities off for in that wind chill factor because these shots are just brilliant. Wish I lived in Wales, for the Mach Loop and the walking/scenery...

Hi Dave. What was the serial of the Herc that passed you something like between 12.30pm and 12.45pm? I had a Herc overhead 20 miles south of Aberystwyth about 1pm and i assume it went in the loop before hand.
Excellent pictures by the way. It's much colder today!
