If that's from the mound at Mildenhall, then let me repeat "Why have the spotters let those trees grow?" When they were seedlings or saplings, they would have been so easy to despatch!

I don't see weeds (especially on public ground) as "property" (which a fence would be). By this token, you should not trample the nettles by the fence! A "weed", BTW is any vegetation growing where it is unwanted, whether it wants to be a tree or a stinger.

Imagine being a wee young lad (14 birthday present) - attending your first Fairford airshow - coincidentally on your own (family not as enamored with aviation), you are completely blown away by the beauties on show, like a kid in the grandest sweet shop of all!

You find a spot right by the fence and pull out the wet film camera that you have borrowed from your father in order to get on film the machines you have only seen in books, and start snapping away happily, using your only roll of film you could afford . . . . .

When you come to get on the coach to go home, you realize what a lens cap is . . . . .
