Went down to Carlisle to catch the Helis for JW arriving. Great to see the Junglies again, and the Merlin was a nice surprise.

Why was the Apache carrying drop tanks?

LG, I think that is their standard load now. I read somewhere, that they were running short of fuel in Agfannystan quicker than they were running out of munitions

Hi Duane, we got lucky with the Chinooks as they all wanted to unload stuff at the hangar,so they had to come in one at a time. I went down to the 07 end for the Apaches and Chinooks arriving, but the Apaches were over my head and I needed to be right up at the road junction to get a decent side on. I went there for the Chinooks but they cut the corner coming from the South, so over my head again. Still an excellent day out though, but I'll only go back down if it's sunny and there is still some activity over the next week or so.
