Souda 12/07

Post by Thunder » Tue Jul 12, 2022 1:43 pm

Paid a visit to Souda today and the deployed 48th FW F-15/35’s were very active. At least 8 F-15’s and 10 F-35’s were flying, one sortie in morning and another in the afternoon, a couple of local HAF F-16’s were up with them. Nine HAF F-16’s departed en masse but didn’t return after nearly 3hrs, so don’t know where they went. Also noted on ground were 2x USAF C-130 & 1x USAF RC-135, a P-3 departed just as I arrived.

Didn’t expect to see F-15/35’s flying from Souda, as I wasn’t aware that the 48th had deployed here. Was rather disappointed as when a I first saw them in the distance I was thinking Israeli. Was gutted that the 9 HAF jets didn’t return as that was my aim.

Turns out that the 9x F-16’s went to Israel(one must’ve been a spare?)
