Noted while on holiday in the neighbourhood were the following. Serials gained from ADSB/FR24 in brackets. Everything else read off or provided from reliable source.

Wed 20/9

C-146A – 97-3091 In/out to Stuttgart

U-28A – 07-0777, 07-0821, 08-0700

HC-130J – 15-5827/AK

This plus the U28s departed east next day but the C-130 returned and was still present 29/09/2023

C-21A – (84-0126)

RC-135U – 64-14847/OF Flew several missions during the week but departed to MLD 29/09

Gulf 5? – N183PA Didn’t move all week

Noted on airways was C-17 - CB-8010 UK bound (everything stopped trailing from the following day!)

 

Thurs 21/09

C-40 – (165834)

C-130T – (164598/JW) went to Belfast

There were two EP-3E on detachment

159887 which correctly showed its serial on FR24

156529 which showed as 156517on FR24. Neither showed on ADSB

A pair of HAF M346s overshot in the morning

 

Fri 22/09

C-146A 97-3091 returned from Stuttgart

KC-130J – 170040/BH, 170271/BH

 

Sat 23/09

C-130T – (164598/JW) returned from Belfast

 

Sun 24/09

AC-130J – 16-5846, 16-5861, 18-5886 Arrived from the West Nightstoped then departed East (I was given these serials)

KC-135R – 59-1515 Arrived the previous evening after refuelling a E4, departed to Spang.

Globemaster – ZZ171 ………Really!!


Mon 25/09

ERJ.145H – (729)  HAF

Global – 1350  UAEAF  QTR departed to PIK

Tue 26/09

C-12J – (84-00160) From Naples, QTR, onward East

Thurs 29/09/2023

MC-130J – 08-6201, 18-5910, 20-5935

CV-22B – 10-0056, 12-0067, 13-0069, 14-0073

All arrived the previous evening from Rota I believe, Departed 18:00L

C-146A – (97-3091) again!!


Didn’t go chasing the local F-16s but they flew pretty regular, launching 6-9 per wave

Some I did note were

F-16C – 507, 537, 538 006 (not sure if this is now based or working with the locals)

F-16D – 602, 609

On the mil ramp was a Erickson H-64 and a Ka32 if anyone knows.

probably four CV-22B arrived Rota by ship last week
one of these is the CV-22B 14-0073

F-16 ‘006’, was one of the first pair that was modified to F-16V standard, once with 335M at Araxos, I now believe it’s on strength of 343M at Souda.

First HAF M.346s I've seen, shame they went unidentified.

I expect that over the next few years the F16 fleet is going to move around a bit as they enter and come out of upgrade

As for the M346’s I believe that only two have so far been delivered 250 & 251?

Correct, the next two are still test-flying in Italy.
