Just a tip.
Deal with the Unit Public Affairs Officer, not the Air Force HQ PAO.

From this article (in Spanish but Google translate will help you) https://www.defensa.com/espana/claves-p ... s-canarias It looks like Ocean Sky is not going on this year.

Pretty much 100% it is not happening this year. Was told in 2021 the exercise would not take place in 2022 and a friend who is based there also said it is not happening. So unless something has changed there is no Ocean Sky 2022.

Thanks for letting me know, I may well still go. From previous experience the F-18's are fairly regularly up regardless of an exercise, and I need a holiday !!! :thumb:

I would also like to know for sure if anything is happening. Thanks Mike Green for your message. Is Sirio 2002 an alternative exercise? If the tanker exercise is still taking place on Lanzarote then surely they will need some aircraft to refuel.

Might have to cancel hotel & rebook flights if nothing happening.
Thanks if anyone can advise.

Yes Sirio 2022 is completely different exercise and there are no media or spotters days planned

Great info thanks. Well at least it looks like Gando will be busy anyway, i'm happy to see just Spanish AF jets. That and some sun, sea and San Miguel and you will not hear me complaining !!

A Spanish A400 has been shuttling between Badajoz and Las Palmas for the last 2 days. The Spanish AF base their UAV's here so I suspect it's moving ground/support equipment.
