Rainbow / Star wars Canyon

Post by Aircmdr » Thu May 25, 2023 8:39 pm

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone can answer a query I got, me and a group are going out to the west coast in September and the idea of Rainbow Canyon has been brought up as a potential visit, does anyone know if its still busy/active after the ban I have varied answers online so wondered if anyone on here would know.

Any tips and help would be appreciated :)

Still no flying in the canyon. Doubt there ever will be again unfortunately.

Correct in that nothing flies through the canyon but there is still low level traffic through the flats of Panamint Valley.
Was out in March and had very low Pairs of F16, F18 several times and F117 in the distance on the southern part of the range.
Hope this helps.
