Does anyone know if Mountain Home Air Force Base has any good photo/spotting locations?

Not really. There is a quarry to the south west of the base, and you can sort of see the ramp from there - but its a looooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggg way away in the distance. Personally, I don't think I'd go there unless I was on, or for an airshow.

A successful spotting visit to Mountain Home depends on what optics you have! If you have a pair of binoculars then as Malcolm says, go to the airshow but, if you have a high powered telescope (Swarovski or similar) then it can be done.

I was there in 2017, spent an afternoon there, managed to read the whole ramp off from outside.

Thanks guys. I was looking at Google Maps and wasn't sure if you can get close for departures or arrivals in the fields out there. I don't know what is private land versus public land and roads.
