A couple of unexpected bits noted from a recent city break in New York:

25/09/2022

ZH824 Merlin HM.2 (Crowsnest) Royal Navy 820 SQN "NAVY 820". Noted flying along the Hudson River around 0940hrs (from a Circle Line sight-seeing cruise at pier 83).

Royal Navy frigate F239 "HMS Richmond" arrived and parked up at pier 88 (approx 1230ish as we returned from our cruise). Hangar door closed, no helo visible.


27/09/2022

162164/57 C-2A(R) US Navy VRC-40 "RAWHIDE 71". Flew east over downtown Manhatton, before returning a few minutes later (along the Hudson and over the Statue of Liberty). Viewed from the Staten Island Ferry!

Also noted from the ferry was R08 "HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH" with three Merlin HM.2 (Crowsnest) on top:

Also noted hiding on the gloom of the hangar deck was some sort of "Reaper" type drone, although these aren't my strong point, so unknown if real or mock up (or exact type).

162169/636 C-2A(R) US Navy VAW-120 "GREYHAWK 36". Westbound along the Hudson approx 1154hrs (noted from USS Intrepid).
ZH843 Merlin HM.2 (Crowsnest) Royal Navy 820 SQN "NAVY 820". Eastbound along the Hudson approx 1227hrs (noted from USS Intrepid).
20-21148 UH-60M Blackhawk US Army (registration from ADSB). Eastbound along the Hudson approx 1343hrs (noted from USS Intrepid).
