Nellis question

It's a while since I have been to Nellis and I remember from Cheyenne there was a gap where you could see down the runway and watch ( at distance) aircraft lining up to take off or turning off after landing - therefore you could read arrival serials irrespective of which end they are on. Is this still the case as my memory is rather vague in this area
