Camo Tornado GR1/1A's, scans from slides. (Biiiig post)

Post by toom317 » Sun Mar 24, 2019 9:28 pm

With the imminent end of the Tornado in RAF service, I thought I'd dig the slides out and scan the camo GR1/1A's. Sorry about the quality of some of the scans, it took me a while to work out the settings on the scanner. A bit self indulgent, as there are over 100 slides, but I hope you like at least some of them, and a trip down memory lane for the older farts amongst us. Most of the on airfield ground shots were at Lossie in 84/85 while I was based there.

(My apologies, I appear to have got some of the reggies wrong in some of the pics, I've added a note above the relevant pics, as it isn't easy to go back in and amend the pics themselves).

And finally, my all time favourite shot of a Tornado taken by me, this one over St Mary's Loch, circa 91/92.

Great stuff Danny
I wish I had seen some of these through the valley but it was well before my plane spotting days.

Cheers,
Walter

Well, that was a well-spent 1/2 hour giving those a proper look

Thanks for all the effort it must have taken to post those beauties :thumb:

Superb, esp that last one. Would you like to add ZA613 to my post on Display Tornados as it's the one special scheme that's missing?
