Thanks for sharing this, I know several people who either bought or were given an Airfix kit of the SM79, but got stumped by the paint scheme. I think the Lebanese AF had three of these and they survived into the 1960s, one was returned to Italy and is currently in the Italian AF museum, which I visited in 1995 (highly recommended). There might be one of the others surviving somewhere. But this photo is a gem.

112 is the actual a/c in the Italian AF Museum,Vigna di Valle at Lake Bracciano - it is a stunning museum on the shore of Lake Bracciano (it was a Flying Boat Base and still is an AF Base),we visited in Nov 2017 and we really did not want to leave,- some pics here ...

Her sister ship (113) is preserved in lovely condition at the Museo dell'Aeronautica Gianni Caproni in Trento,Northern Italy - a lovely little museum in another stunning location which we also visited Nov 2017 :)
