BofB50 Montage

Not wishing to hijack Terry's thread, here's my shot from the top of Honington's ridiculously high lighting tower. I didn't have a wide angle lens with me or any colour film but I improvised with this montage:-

ahh, happy days!

I suppose I should explain for those who don't recall the event - this was a press day just before the big flypast over Buckingham Palace. The GR1 formations were launching from Honington but the weather was poor so they scrubbed the rehearsal. In order to give us something to see, the ground crew shuffled the TWCU aircraft into the 16-ship formation that they would have flown. Great idea but of course from the ground you couldn't really appreciate it. Then some bright spark (doh!) spotted the high lighting tower (I think it's about 300ft?) and asked if it could be climbed. Off went the officers to find-out and - success! Of course the assembled photographers were too girly to attempt climbing it but me and Terry were mad enough to have a go, so up we went!

The formation was of course successfully flown for Her Maj on the big day!
