Image

The aileron and wing tip had been severley damaged
Image

It looked to be remarkably complete though, this is the nosewheel well
Image

Pressure guages in the well, hoses and wiring looked to be all there
Image

Dirty and corroded, in a few places I reckon you couild have poked a finger through the skin

Can you elaborate on that ? What's special about this particular one ?

Thanks. I was horrified when I saw it, the pics are a 4 or 5 years old so I expect it's in an even worse state now which is a great shame. Does anyone know how far the restoration got of the one at Southampton ? I think the original intention was to flying condition but funds ran out.
