RE the
Nice pix by the way
Blackcat1's comment - those were the days - sums it all up. (Nostalgia isn't what it used to be).
I don't think the CT-133s were serviced at Warton - may be Prestwick. I know they used to service CF-104s there duringthe 1970s / 80s.Canadian Armed Forces T-33, 1980s, - CAF F-104s were regular visitors to Brawdy - usually for amazing beat ups of the airfield - I think that these were "maintenance check flights" from Warton - BAE had the maintenance contract. Callsigns were usually "Tiger". I stand to be corrected!

Re: Brawdy - Assorted
I wasn't entirely sure where was suitable, but here seemed a good a place as any to mark the passing of one of the legends of Brawdy...
Flt Lt Douglas "Puddy" Catt was synonymous for flying the RAF's last single seat Meteor F8 commonly refered to as "Winston" (VZ467).
This morning I recieved the sad news that at 77 yrs old, Puddy was found dead in his home by his neighbour & landlord down in Wales where he had lived since leaving the RAF in 1982.
I had been in regular touch with him both by letter and email until very recently, and visited him whenever I returned down to the Brawdy area. He was always relieved to hear updates on 'his' Meteor which is still flying out in Australia at the Temora Museum, and remained the same eccentric character that made him such a legend within RAF circles...
A true gentleman, a sterotypical RAF Pilot complete with handlebar moustache - Puddy was only recently diagnosed with terminal cancer.
R.I.P. Sir - Blue Skies

Thanks for t letting us know. So it was him who had the enviable job! If I had known he lived near Brawdy, I would have delighted in meeting him when visiting "home" in PD.
