P47 Thunderbolt named SNAFU. From its arrival to its departure. I followed, like many others its rebuild to former glory. So sad to see its departure across the waters

Where is this based in the states now?

What happened to the silver P47 that Duxford once owned? MX X

The suggestion seems to be that "Snafu" is based at "Comanche Ranch", a private airfield somewhere in Texas, approximately 100 miles from Houston (although it doesn't mention in which direction!)

Evidently a lot of the aircraft based there also spend some time at Chino too.

Hi, Sally. I believe that 'Snafu ' was brought by the Friedkin Bros in the States, but I don't know their base. and I think the P.47D was brought by Jim Beasley, also in the States.
Being a little pedantic, neither were owned by Duxford, but by Steven Grey's Fighter Collection. Regards, John.
