A bakers dozen of Hawkers finest from IAT '93

Post by paddyboy » Wed Dec 20, 2017 3:45 pm

Hi Peeps :P

With the weather over here being a right load of 'Barry White' today, a tad more delving was the order of the day ;)

The result is this sorry bunch for your delectation

The shots are better than mine Paddy!!!
Were these taken straight after the Mig-29 'incident'?
I remember them getting airborne very quickly afterwords!

Evening Mr P
Great set again Sir .
I was on the bus far side going past them as they waited at the holding point as the Migs hit and they looked so cool as the choas happened above them.

Nothing to be sorry for Paddy, as far as I'm concerned it's not possible to take a bad picture of a Hunter and the Migs are pretty sweet too!

Fantastic.

Hunters always worth a look PB. #8 the one for me. Shame we're being deprived of them on the airshow circuit (courtesy of the CAA). We've already lost one of the best looking and I suppose many more will have been exported by the time the ban is lifted - so memories like this will be all that's left! Weather wise - every dark cloud eh?

Hunters were cleared to display again over here on the 6th July this year, albeit with caveats restricting the type of manoeuvres allowable over land.

Nice shots P.B! :thumb:
Cheers

Hi Peeps :P

Thanks so much for peeking and replying

Yes, I can remember; they never flinched after the Migs' 'coming together': true pros ;)

Best regards :thumb:

Thanks for posting those up Paddy, they are something I never got to see as a team in action.
I togged them a few years after in 1998 ,I think!, when Mark Hanna and his dad Ray brought some of them to Cranfield. All the best and happy new year buddy , from South side and Hall Rd

Thanks PB for another spoonful of nostalgia, great team indeed. I was there in 93, and also remember seeing them at Boscombe Down in 92. Many thanks for sharing :thumb:

We were there both days, so I can't be sure which day they were taken on

I do know I didn't get any shots of the Migs' crash, as I was changing films and swearing profusely :grr:
