Short stories. A deceased friend of mine, well known in the modelling world [Mike Mcevoy of Scale Aircraft modeller] flew Hunters in the R.A.F. He discovered that one that he flew was still in Peru [or it might have been Chile} so he and his wife went over to see it!. . It may well be in one of these pictures.
I read many articles from Mike McEvoy in the pages of Scale Aircraft Modeller. It was most likely one of the Chilean Hunters Mike flew as Peru received their Hunters in 1956 when Mike was 20 years old.

Stunning set which could have been taken yesterday. Happy memories of them operating out of Lossie until they retired in 1994.
I remember them well when seeing them at Brawdy and Lossiemouth in the seventies.
Cheers, Peter

Thanks Basilisk. He was a good friend and, as you will know from reading his articles, a humorous writer with a magnificent command of the English Language. Lovely picks. Very envious. I had a Vampire T.11 ride through the Mach Loop when I was a 16 year old A.T.C Cadet.... with no camera. :( . Regards.

Oh my goodness; what a truly excellent post!
I loved the Hunter from the instant I saw my first FRU GA.11's at Hurn when they replaced the Scimitars.
Thanks for sharing your most excellent captures
Best regards, Terry
