Some more grainy B&W from the archives. Apologies for the civvy at the Hall, the F-104s all look to be Lakenheath visitors, and I think the Nord 262 is at Southend.

I was also at the Hall for the Texas KC-97L - I have 17/04/1977 logged, and for the 3 AMI 104's at the Heath 28/04/1977.
How I miss those days '97's C-118's C-121's..... and even further back can even remember at school spotting the odd C-124 and C-133 inbound to Germany (sigh!).
I was fortunate to get an 18 month stint at a depot in Thetford between 76-77 so I spent almost every day at the Hall/Heath - how I wish I spent more time taking photos rather than number crunching back then....ah well.

Hi Robin, many thanks for the dates, my record keeping was good but those records seemed to have been mislaid! Many FC'ers have wished for a time-machine/Tardis to revisit the earlier years, the variety experienced, without the benefits of ADSB and other tracker sites was amazing. I recall there was a lot of word-of-mouth on what was arriving where, mostly people who were in-the-know, whatever that means! Lasting C-118 memory for me was the groaning noise, I think from the nose-wheel steering, as it taxied (I'm amazed I can remember such a trivial thing!). Thanks again, Pete
