KC97 Restaurant Colorado Springs (The Airplane restaurant)

Post by bvs » Thu Jan 28, 2021 11:37 am

MarkS's B47 pic reminded me about a really nice restaurant we visited at Colorado Springs in 2018.
We drove down from the hills after a ride on the Cripple Creek and Victor narrow gauge steam railroad (lovely little place).
The Restaurant is a really impressive Homage to Aviation/Aircraft/Flyers and the food was delish

You could choose to eat up in the Fuselage, but we just had a quick visit upstairs and ate in the main restaurant which was chock full of aviation memorabilia.

The food looked as good as the K.C.!! :) Used to do Denny's 'Death by Chocolate'.

That looks impressive and worth visiting sometime. Up at Bruntingthorpe, I understand that the Guppy has a very uncertain future, maybe someone with deep pockets and a bit of imagination and once Covid has more or less gone, could step forward.

On a similar note, The Aviator at Staverton airport in between Gloucester and Cheltenham is pretty good

I've got a hunch it might be too late for the old Guppy? :(
Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

Many thanks for the kind comments Gents.
Yes the food was brill - we were getting towards the end of 2 weeks of 'holiday' eating hence sharing the cheesecake rather than a slice each
Our main course was Fish'n'chips for the Boss and Chile con Carne in a giant taco for moi :Wow:

I could happily live on Chili con Carne. Senior Management hates it!!!.
