Thanks for sharing these, an interesting selection. I like the last one of the Tornado landing, you should get some Christmas cards made up with that image. It's only seven months until Christmas!

A good angle on the WC-135B, was that Mildenhall 1989 display or just a random day out?

I saw (and photographed it) a few times. It may have been 1989. I was at the Mildenhall shows from 1976? until the end but don't know when I took the image. I guess that I'm not much of an 'aviation guy'. I've never collected numbers, and in fact gave up imaging as I'd rather just watch and listen.

The WC-135B which was the squadron training aircraft, wasn't in service with the 10 ACCS at Mildenhall until at least the late 1980's and not long before the 1989 Air Fete. You most certainly didn't photograph it with the 10ACCS fin-band as showing on your image in the 1970s! Given the angle it is banking at and the direction of the light, I would be pretty certain this was at the 1989 Air Fete as it was flying the displays over that weekend.Fibrous Freddie wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 12:00 pmHicapercaillie wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 11:00 amA good angle on the WC-135B, was that Mildenhall 1989 display or just a random day out?

I saw "Cherry Bomb" more often than "Let them Eat Crow"! If only for the time machine I would come and join you!

Great I'll go with that... Thanks for sorting it... I barely remember taking most of the photos, and quite often had B&W. I lived five miles from Bentwaters for a few years in the '70's and again late '80's and have NO photos from those times (just smudgy memories!!!!)Bilvo wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 1:47 pmThe WC-135B which was the squadron training aircraft, wasn't in service with the 10 ACCS at Mildenhall until at least the late 1980's and not long before the 1989 Air Fete. Lovely to see a different UH Raven with artwork. This is ‘Special Delivery’ I think. Every jet in the 42nd ECS carried nose art for a short while - mostly during 1987. Apart from the usual suspects mentioned above (Cherry Bomb and Let ‘Em Eat Crow), we don't often see shots of the others. Great stuff!
