A one-off formation on a very highly classified sortie with no photographs allowed (hence the cabin conditioning pipes featuring in the picture). This was an early trial for Project Teal Ruby (Google is your friend) and involved sitting on the pan at Brawdy and then scrambling into the Aberporth ranges when a U2 carrying the sensor unit from the USAF's proposed satellite came into the overhead. The project was cancelled after the shuttle disaster and went from secret to news item.
