Friday slide scans... including some propellers!!!

Post by Fibrous Freddie » Fri May 20, 2022 8:25 am

I'm getting rather bored doing the scanning but it's worth it for the fun for the sights and smells I can recall and trying to remember when and where I was etc!

A few more from the eighties and nineties... Forgive the lack of variety this time.
Oh for modern camera gear... but then again if the modern camera gear existed so probably would the modern aeroplanes!!!

Having just opened another box, if I get time, tomorrow could be 'Avons Calling!'. (So again a distinct chance of a lack of variety!!!)

Thank you for your patience.

That's a mean looking Crusader - last of the gunfighters!

Off-topic...
Have you read 'Feet Wet' by Gilchrist? Excellent book for the first three-quarters... well worth a gander.

Nice to see Snoopy, which gave many years of useful service, sad it no longer exists. Nice bit of variety amongst the others too. Thanks for sharing these.

Some more superb shots, really like the Ski Herc, that Keflavik F15 is non too shabby either.

Coincidence department. Visited an old sick friend in Cambridge yesterday, and borrowed a dozen of his old 'Aeroplane' mags. 30 minutes before I switched my PC on a few minutes ago I was reading an article on 'Snoopy' in the September '21 edition. The last picture was of it being broken up at Cambridge?? in 2014. It had an interesting career.

Nice set. Miss seeing Snoopy she was a regular sight over home in Wiltshire as in later years spent quite a bit of time at Boscombe Down or Lyneham.

I think that the flying shot was from Boscombe Down.
