Flashes at the Royal Flush 1970
The annual NATO photo reconnaissance competition was held at the Dutch air base Deelen during May 1970. Since at that time I was fulfilling my duties as conscript, I had (limited) access to the base and was able to take pictures of just a few squadrons participating in the competition. I hope you like this first selection.

Brilliant to see, thanks again Arnold for taking us on this amazing journey into a period in aviation history some of us were just too young for.
Cheers.

Nice focus on a NATO Cold War stalwart. Expect RAFG fielded Hunters?

Thanks Arnold, for another great selection of shots. Although fairly young at the time, I was lucky to see a few Danish examples attending an airshow. But there are several examples preserved throughout Europe and in the USA of course and I've seen a lot of those. Please keep these interesting views coming!

Superb, Arnold!!!!!!! My only sight of flying 'flashes was in Greece in 1982. More than some, I know. I was lucky

Great Arnold. Brings back memories of going to Deelen AFB on my bike (55 KM one way) to see all these beauties. Also went here with the Late John Lekkerkerker on his Kreidler moped. I remember we had a Danish T-33A as a visitor. On the departure day the Danish RF-84F’s camera compartments where loaded with boxes with Jenver (Dutch Gin) instead of film containers.
