Thanks for sharing these, some excellent shots there. I assume those Brize shots were at a Photocall, I do recall attending one circa 1993.

Yes Brize Photocall, I've got it as 5th June 1993 - can't remember if there were a couple of those, I've only found 1993 ones so far, so perhaps just the one, the memory gets mixed up with stuff that far back, Wyton had a few open/show days and the 40th anniversary and I think there was a Brize Airshow, 28th June 1986.

I think for us, another well remembered day, Keefo dropped one of his exposed films somewhere out there, we wandered around a bit looking for it, but no joy unfortunately. One of those incidents that we talked about ruefully rather than the usual pi** taking that was the norm.

Cheers for the kind comments guys,

Binbrook87 - that's one helluva avatar you're sporting there, is that one of your photos? From the farewell show perhaps?

Haha! No alas it's not my own photo... but I did catch the infamous flypast with my camera, but the quality with a 50mm lens was very poor. What a great show it was...even with the continuous non stop rain and queues to get in! Without doubt the best airshow in terms of memories that I've attended. A really nice and varied static (that F-100) and superb flying display. Oh...and did i mention the queues and the rain? :D

My memory (although could be flawed these days) of that day...

Rain... My buddies dropped all the chairs and food bags etc on the flight-line to reserve a spot. They went off to mooch around the static, I was left sitting on one of the chairs in my full BT waterproof (although evidently not) trousers and jacket, my job, to look after the gear and retain the spot.

Cold and wet... What a miserable time it was... now here's where the memory could be wrong but I believe when my buddies returned, also wet cold and miserable we decided to pack up, go back to the car and head home.

I've certainly not seen any slides of mine from that day yet.

Yeh it was miserable and after a couple of hours i thought....."well I'm wet now so can't get any wetter" so just ignored it and got on with enjoying the show. My camera also was ruined by rain afterwards so i lost quite a few shots. Had to get some copies from my mate who took some crackers of the lightnings on static and in the hangars early morning before the downpour (he decided to get there very early whereas i had a lie in 😂). An event never to be repeated sadly
