"On the Beach" North Island approach 7/2011

Post by Gordsmith » Sun Nov 05, 2023 9:51 am

A regular stop for us on our trips, this location rarely failed to produce some action. Aside from that there are plenty of assorted other, (winged) birds to watch, from waders and pelicans to raptors. All in all a great spotting spot, and anyway we always loved San Diego!
Regards to all, Gordon.

Very nice photos from a great location, one of my favourite photographic locations in the US. Sadly, it's not quite the same as it was when it had the distinctive sight and sound of S-3s on the approach.

Fabulous shots Gordon from this great location. I remember that day well having spent 10 in the San Diego area after doing Miramat show.
Hope you are keeping well.
Kind regards
Nigel

Thanks to all for the comments, the location is a great place to soak your feet in the water whilst watching for the next movement. Very happy to share theses memories.

Lovely selection Gordon. I remember watching the dolphins in the surf, not 20 meters out on Coronado beach, a fantastic spot to watch the aircraft.

Lovely selection Gordon. :thumb:
I remember a morning at the beach there on my first US trip back in the mid 90s. Wall to wall S-3s then!
