Republic of Singapore Airforce Museum

Post by burnsy133 » Wed Jun 12, 2024 6:42 pm

A free couple of hours before a conference saw me make my way to Paya Labar to see if i could see any of the based F-15's, no such luck. Whilst at the base it would be rude not to visit the Museum, its not the biggest, but some nice items.

Standing proud at the Museum entrance was this former 111 Sqn E-2C Hawkeye.

Not a great deal at the Museum, and what there is, well its cluttered !!

The Alloute 3 was the first helicopter for the RSAF, 9 years later it became Malaysian Airforce, before being retired and returning to the Singapore Air Force Museum.

301, BAC Strikemaster preserved at Paya Labar, delivered 1969, before being retired in 1993, having seen no active combat.

'800' Northrop F-5S Tiger II, delivered 1979 to replace the Hawker Hunter, before going on to serve for 35 years.

'364'. Lockheed T-33A of the Singapore Air Force.

'900' Douglas A-4SU Super Skyhawk, converted by Singapore Aircraft Industries, was resident on France for a long time as a trainer, flying from Cazaux.

And that was that, not sure its worth a 6800 mile trip, but if you are in the area, it has some nice stuff.

Brilliant!
Thanks to your post, I am now aware of it's existence; I am over there in December so I will try to make a visit.

I visited the museum last year when I was there for the Open House. Small but good.
The Alouette is ex French Army and not ex Singapore Air Force.
