Reminds me of the summer of 1976 when I was on ATC camp there. I spent a a day or two with the lineys on 'Shi**y Six', they were hilarious, and a few evenings with the fire crews who again were a lot of fun. A pair of 17 Sqn Jags visited, we weren't allowed anywhere near them.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

Both part 1 and Part 2 are a very enjoyable browse - wish I had gone to that event

Great access in the hangar - wish the RAF would have more events like this so the public can get up close and see what the Royal Air Force do.

Another sweet set.

I was never into hangar shots, I think I considered them too cluttered for me back in the day - how wrong I was!!

Thanks for sharing, enjoyed them

Thank you for these reminders of an excellent event. Some different shots to mine, I focussed on the arrivals taxying past after the hangar walk throughs

I echo the sentiments of those who wish the RAF would do this kind of thing again, however unlikely that may be in the current climate

Very happy to see more if you have them

Thanks for the comments from all on the shots from this event, pleased they have brought back great memories
I certainly do agree that the best days have long gone. Of course the world has become a different place, and regrettably I think the outsourcing of engineering and even flying training to private contractors was a turning point. Understandably I guess they have only one interest and that is .....'£' Aircraft spotters do not seem to feature... they would be a cost !
The son of an old work colleague of mine works on Typhoon. When I speak with him he has no interest whatsoever in aircraft to him they are just big 'laptops' that need mending and of course the month end ....plenty '£'

Brings back a few memories, I was on 6 slightly before this event. I was on 31 at the time and we made a point of bombing up the jet with a max load of 12 brimstone and 4 alarm just to show what a real jet could carry.

Childish I know!
