Bit of a long shot but was wondering whether anyone out there has a close up of the nose art on 'Dirty Harriet' the Bucc which had been prepared as a replacement for the Det out in the Gulf when the War ended leaving her surplus to requirements. I caught her performing a flypast @ the '91 Yorkshire Air Museum Open Day looking pretty in desert pink with the nose art visible but due to low light caused by an approaching rainstorm the shot had to be taken at v.slow speed (prob 1/60th) ruling out any real prospect of enlargement. I cannot remember seeing any pics of this in the mags so if you were lucky up to get up close and personal with her make my day!

For what its worth a scan of a print taken on the 18th March 1991 inside a locked and dark HAS at Lossiemouth.

Clearest image I've seen Tom. Many thanks. Do you know if it was by the same artist who did the ones in theatre as the style looks different?

Thank you, different artist from what I recall.

From what I can recall the deployed a/c had their nose art applied in theatre, whilst Dirty Harriet had hers applied at Lossie, so more than likely a different artist.

Further to the above Cpl Kenny Latham on 208 Sqn painted the 'in theatre' aircraft and 'Harriet was painted by Billy Furey (see pic).

Billy Furey .......... ?! J/T later to come to Coltishall ? I know Billy had an artistic bent ( he designed some AMF patches ) but didn't realise he did these too :-)
