1975 First months

Post by Keflavik69 » Wed Mar 19, 2025 8:09 am

Some pictures of my spotting activities 50 years ago when I mainly focussed on Wildenrath, Brüggen and Norvenich during the first three months of the year. No doubt the weather had its influence here.

Wonderful stuff! Your postings gladden my heart - I get so bored of seeing the same photo's of grey aircraft of limited types. Your selections are always a breath of fresh air so thank you so much for posting these memories.

Fabulous collection of images, some real rarities in there (when they were alive and kicking), especially those 97's :Wow: .
Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

Thanks Arnold, always enjoy viewing your selection of shots, some great memories. The Varsity was a type I saw regularly when I was at school, they seemed to overfly most days. Nice to see the Belgian Pembroke and the Danish T-33A too.

V. nice Arnold. A truly eclectic set, with some real rarities. Particularly liking the Harrier GR1s and Tooms!

XV474 is the Phantom at Duxford; just wondering if the splitter plate is a replacement as the paint finish doesn’t quite match the rest and a real mud mover load.
Thanks

Very nice shots Arnold.
I'm guessing that the great lighting on the underside shots meant you were standing in snowdrifts at the end of the runway!
That's dedication for you.

Nice photos, love the Harrier and remember working a Starlifter MAC ALCE on an ARC52 from Yisilkoy Airport Turkey. Had him for a hundred miles or more.

Very nice set. I recognised the VT-29 at Ramstein,0-17899, as it was on display at Duxford before it was scrapped.
