Superb shots Terry & high quality scans. What scanner was used? Vast improvement on previous scans. Just one small point you state 1975ish for the first RN F-4, it must have been taken in 1977 or just after because it carries Silver Jubilee nose markings.

Absolutely fantastic collection!

I've got a signed (By the pilots) photo of that transatlantic flight F4 somewhere from when it was at Finningley one year.

Good post Terry,

we used to visit cby on our way too and from my parents holiday Caravanin @ Chapel st leonards   .

Used to hang around the fence wearing my tank top and 52 button flares.

Those scans are amazing quality. All great but the last 56 Sqn FGR2 really interests me with the squadron markings applied alongside the trial markings.

Hi Terry, Nice Phantom shots, as the new forum has settled down I thought I might resurrect
The Warton Hall of Fame, I know you put in a lot of work with the lightning thread, would you be able to post some more photos of the lightnings Frank.

P I found this youtube video on another forum low level Phantoms wow.

True or False, was the All Blue Phantom one of the 2 which appeared at IAT '91?

True - Both 19 & 92 Sqn aircraft were on show that RIAT although I think Blue Zulu (92's a/c) was on the strength of 19 sqn by then as 92 Sqn had disbanded earlier that month.

Great post...brings back lots of memories.

Except I showed them to a colleague who grumbled about his time as a young sergeant "on 16 hour night shifts turning a squadron of unserviceable jets into a squadron of even more unserviceable jets " !

Absolutely Phantastic. Will always be the aircraft that hooked me into this passion of ours. Used to be the highlight
for me of the Scottish Intl Airshow which used to be held at Prestwick. The only thing that came close to the F4 for me
was one year when the announcer suggested we look to our right over the water and a Buccaneer was coming in very low very smoky and very fast, hit the centre line and pulled stick back. What an entrance!!. Oh the memories this thread throws up for us. Thank you sir.
Dave
