Reading that as a scot it should probably read "Scotch Mist"

Only thing I can think of is a Valiant, but we would be able to help you better if you have a photo of the jet.

Could the OP be thinking about the Valiant, the nose being slightly similar to the Vulcan?

Maybe it was an Avro 707 ? Looks like a mini Vulcan .

It's an Armstrong Whitworth 52.The First prototype crashed in 1949,without loss of life........making it the First ejection of a British pilot!

I do not believe you found Latin boring, Mike, and I would certainly not class you as a pedant
