Mini tour of Swiss bases and log 7-Jul7-25

Dubendorf

Nothing visible outside and being a Monday the museum was closed so only logged the F-5E on a pole outside the museum that is marked as J-3096 but I understand it is really J-3013.

Emmen

This was the best of the day and all below were seen over a period of about 2 hours between 12:00 and 14:00 local

PC-21's: A-101, A-102, A-103, A-104, A-107 and A-108. All except A-108 flew early afternoon

Hunter on pole: J-4070

F-18D : J-5232 parked over by RUAG maintenance area, J-5236 went out early afternoon
F-18C: J-5003, J-5006 went out early afternoon with J-5236.

The F-18's except for J-5232 occupied the 8 bay's in the hangar nearest the parking/viewing area. J-5236 was in bay 2, J-5006 in bay 7 and J-5003 in bay 8. All 8 bays had a jet in them, but the doors on the other bays weren't open enough to read off the serials

Drone in hangar across the road from the airfield: D-16

4 F-5's in hangar along with possibly a second large drone. One of the F-5's was J-3212, couldn't read the other 3 nor the drone

EC635 T-356 made a brief visit

PC-7 A-913 did a single low pass

Alpnach

The Citation T-784 and Cougar T-335 that were showing present when I was at Emmen had left (Citation) or nowhere to be seen (Cougar).

Alouette 3: V-262 outside the restaurant on a pole.

Meiringen

Very quiet but noted the following

F-5E: J-3008 pole mounted next to base restaurant.
F-18: X-5098 instructional airframe outside the hangar being worked upon before being towed back inside.

In "hangar 1" which is open some days but not when I was there I could see:-
F-5E J-3073
Alouette 3: V-236

Belp/Berne airport

No military visible and in heavy rain I wasn't going to walk around noting civil stuff!

Overall despite the lousy weather and a lot of driving I was quite pleased with what I saw.

Finally if anyone can help with the missing serials for the F-5's and F-18's at Emmen, much appreciated.

According to PlaneBase J-3096 is correct and was previously marked as "J-3013". The real J-3013 was written off in a mid-air collision in 1981:

The Swiss have two replica F-18s used for ground training X-5098 and X-5099 made by a local Swiss company.
