A single MiG-21 number 116 flew a supersonic test flight this morning using the call sign VITEZ97. It certainly made a loud boom which was felt all over the city.

In from Prestwick around 1310 CFC4220 130614 C-130J, it departed for Rzeszów-Jasionka after picking up ammunition.
The last two weeks have seen MiGs flying everyday apart from both Mondays. Monday is usually a no fly day.
Today’s MiG activity consisted of the following between 0930-1315. V=VITEZ (KNIGHT)
V03 167
V04 164
V05 117
V96 166 Test flight
V06 118
V07 167
V08 117
V09 164
Five different jets which is not a bad effort as they only have seven active. The other two (116 and 133) would have been sitting QRA alert.
Also seen arriving from Zadar were the following PC-9Ms
055 SHARK15
067 SHARK01 out as 03
068 SHARK02 out as 04
062 SHARK16
For those interested, pictures from these reports will end up here at some point.

Re: Zagreb
See you've just got RAF C-130J ZH889 just landed (RRR5732), having flown a rather circuitous route seemingly intentionally avoiding the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovenia.
Re: Zagreb
Thanks Dave, since the first Canadian on the 3rd we have seen one or two flights nearly every day arriving from Prestwick and departing to Rzeszów-Jasionka after picking up donated arms for the Ukraine invasion. Due to someone who works airside photographing what was being loaded onto the first C-130 and posting it on the net a few security feathers were ruffled leading to a knee jerk reaction and a total ban of photography airside and landside around the airport. Unfortunately the spotter scheme allowing people to be near the perimeter fence unhindered has been suspended. So now anyone near the fence will have airport security try and move them on. Whether they actually have the power to make people leave is questionable but anyone planning a visit in the near future to shoot MiGs just be aware. Obviously you can shoot out on the approach but right against the fence with a step ladder might be a problem unless you are quick and don’t hang around too long. The head of security did promise this is only until the Ukraine crisis
is resolved so let’s see. With what I have seen on social media not many airside workers are taking it too seriously.
Just so you are aware the following has mostly been put together from monitoring a scanner, FR24 and other Adsb sources plus social media.

Re: Zagreb
Interested in this thread as we are going on holiday to Pula in July
Probably will hire a car to Zagreb - I see there are numerous wrecks and relics at Zagreb but I can't work out if they are air side or otherwise out of bounds?

Re: Zagreb
If your coming up from Pula you can do the Homeland War Museum at Turanj, just on the outskirts of Karlovac, on your way.
Not far from Zagreb airport at Velika Gorica is the ZTC maintenance facility. All the aircraft parked and stored at ZTC can be easily seen. The best time is at the weekend or in the evening when everyone has gone home. You can take a nice stroll around the fence of the whole facility as not everything is parked at the front.
At the airport/base you can see the MiG-21 on the main gate, not sure about the two Mi-24s parked further in though. From the departures level at the new terminal you can see the stored An-32s on the ramp plus any Mi-8s awaiting overhaul. You can also usually read a couple of MiGs in the hangar as part of it has no door. You get ten minutes free parking if you drive up there. From the departures level you can also see the storage compound holding a few older bits like MiGs and Mi-24s but this is easier in the winter when there are less leaves on the trees.
If you drive between the new terminal and the old terminal on the road that runs underneath the taxyway to the military ramp you pass the two instructional frames by the tech school and the maintenance area with a few civil airliners outside. All easily seen.
Not too far away you have a MiG on a stick at the army barracks at Velika Buna.
Nearby Lučko airfield is very open and the dumped Mi6 can easily be seen. You can drive into civil side of the airfield or around the perimeter on the track on the far side.
In Zagreb city you have a few bits in the Technical Museum plus a MiG outside the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture.
Then if you want to go a little further afield you have a MiG-21 on a stick at Gornja Stubica and a FK100 at Strmec Stubički
Further still you have a MiG on a stick at the small airfield at Čakovec and a T-bird on the deserted strip at Čazma.

Another arrival was French AF DHC-6 F-RACC CTM1501 from LFKB which departed to LFMN on the 8th. Seen being towed around the ZTC facility Mi-8 201.

The annual show in commemoration of Rudolf Perešin on the other side of Sljeme over the village of Gornja Stubica produced the following between 1500-1730.
Slovenian PC-9M L9-68 LSV968
Slovenian AS-532 H3-72
Hungarian JAS-39 35 PUMA11
Croatian UH-60M 230 HAWK..
Croatian MIG-21UMD 164 VITEZ04 multiple passes 1700
Croatian MiG-21UMD 167 VITEZ03 single pass at 1530
Police Bell206 9A-HBZ
Unmarked MiG-21BIS 125 still sits on its pole in the village.
14-09-2022
Arriving around 1100 from Eindhoven was Embraer demonstrator KC-390 PT-ZNG. It performed two demo flights on the 15th before departing on the 16th for the airshow at Ostrava.
Due to the lack of hangar space since the arrival of the two UH-60Ms, three out of the four stored MiGs with dubious back grounds have been moved outside onto the ramp. Only 132 has been positively identified but the other two should be 131 and 134 as the fourth 135 is still in the hangar being used as an instructional airframe
