NATO Days Ostrava 2023

A bit of a mixed bag from Arrivals and the Saturday show day. Always a difficult venue to get decent pictures due to the sun position and the crowds !

Nice to see the 'New Kids' Helo's mixing it with the (non-flyer?) Hind. A fair repeat of Radom & KB attendees, but good to see a full turnout albeit without what could've well been the last hoorah for the SU-22 & Mig 29. Possibly quite frustrating for all that there were 2 B-52's on the ground at Fairford too?
Reference the light, it's easy to see why such effort is made to view from the outside with sun behind you.

I know a lot of 'real' photographers don't like airshows because of the back drop but I personally like to see the human interest shots - I imagine how long one waits for that last person to move out of the way while at the same time stressing over the next rapidly approaching self propelling obstruction .

And thanks for the arrivals log you posted somewhere on here.

Pretty sure the Hind was a flyer and came in the day before. Yes, it was a shame the cold war duo pulled out, but been lucky enough to see both a few times over the years so not a 'show stopper' personally. It's a tough place to get decent pics, but you can get on the other side of the 22 end of the runway, but you are quite some distance from the flying due to the cross runway display axis.

Thanks for the comments Slogen, at the end of the day it's an airshow so the masses are part and parcel and it was absolutely packed
